6 rules to kick-ass in life (& an update on Darren)

Go ahead, admit it. Like a lot of people, you have a favorite number. Maybe your favorite number is your birthday, or the jersey you wore in high school. Or maybe it is your significant other’s birthday. (That would be smart, because then you would never forget it.)

What is your favorite number? Do you have one? Why is it that number?
Well, Darren's number is 6. I mean, it is his all-time favorite number and he is passionate about it! So passionate that he just had it tattooed on his arm!!!

Maybe you’re not as extreme as Darren about your number, but regardless of your passion about your favorite number; we are bringing you 6 tips to kick ass in your life since Darren is kickin' some ass with cancer!

This podcast is for everyone - and we would love to hear from you about these tips. What would you add? What has worked for you? Where do you need more help? {Or give us suggestions on Darren's next tattoo he should get!!} So, please, listen & subscribe today! These are the tips that we share but we go into more detail (hilarious detail!!) in the podcast!

1. FAIL FORWARD ALWAYS!!  So many people don’t dream big enough because they’re so scared of failing…. But where will that get you?  Exactly where you are.  I'd rather try and miss -- but learn an amazing lesson instead of not doing anything at all. Failing is not bad; it is a lesson and that lesson provides growth.

2. If you don’t go after it, you wont have it. It's as simple as that. Period. End. Of. Story!  What are the things that you dream about - that you crave about, that you are constantly thinking of or wishing for?? NOTHING will happen if you don’t do something about it!! My go to tips on not letting fear stop you for going for it are:
  • Write it down first. Visualization is key!
  • Affirmations are everything.  (It's easier than you think, but personal development helps. Join my Mindset/Personal Development group if you need help)
  • Share with other people what you’re thinking about doing to create accountability!
  • Create some accountability for yourself by goal setting (I'll have this part of my plan done by *insert date*).

3. Always do MORE than what is expected of you - ALWAYS!!!  For your parents, for your boss, FOR YOU!!!!!!!!! Think about when you have something on your to do list, the thing that never gets done - everyday you just look at it, but never quite get to it.  It's always there and is like a reminder of not accomplishing your goals/to-do list/work. Who are you letting down when you don't accomplish this goal??? YOU!!! Why hinder your own success? Get it done and keep moving forward!

4. Make peace with the past or you’ll pay for it. If you’re struggling with something in the past, you have to let it go. Maybe it's something tragic and it's not allowing you to become the person you want to be? Here are my top tips to help:
  • Get therapy.  It's not a sign of weakness to ask for help or to go to a professional. It's a sign of your strength and power. It's a sign of your desire to move forward and use the tragedy or tough time to help you be stronger. How amazing is that?
  • EXERCISE! This has been a HUGE thing for me. It's not the physical transformation it is the emotional one. The release of stress and an outlet to do something that will only better yourself. (Need motivation? Message me)
  • Surround yourself with people who lift you up. This is vital! Energy of all kinds (negative and positive) is contagious!!!! Be with those who lift you up and continue the wave of empowerment!

5. Stop thinking so much and start doing!!! Everyone waits for things to be perfect before going....or the perfect time. Honestly, there will NEVER be a perfect time AND it will never be perfect.  I literally start doing things before they’re even complete!! And from my personal experience, once you finally start doing it (and maybe even failing a few time), it gets easier and easier to keep going & making that progress. The only regret you will have is wondering why you never started it sooner!

6. Teach others what you know and what you have learned along the way. If you think you have to be an expert, you don't!!  It's your personal experience and what you have learnred that helps others. Even if you have an idea about something but know nothing about it; LEARN IT and then SHARE IT. You have the power to learn ANYTHING. And YOU CAN LITERALLY GOOGLE ANYTHING!!! Get your facts straight, make it personal to you/your story, and you have just become an expert in the situation!!! What speaks louder than a personal testimony??

What would you add? What works for you? What do you struggle with?
Your friend & coach,
