Little known fact about me: I was diagnosed with sleep apnea a couple of years ago after startling awake one night and freaking out when Darren wasn't beside me! I felt like I was having a panic attack and something just wasn't right.
To be honest, the news initially embarrassed me because I TOTALLY categorized sleep apnea as a 'man's problem'. But ladies out there, if you're in the same boat, did you know that celebrities like Amy Poehler have shared their experience of the condition too??
Fortunately through some research, we have found a few answers that help! Of course, I'm no sleep specialist so always consult your doctor, but here are a few natural remedies that have brought some peace and SLEEP to our home!
Maintain a healthy weight.
Practice yoga! It builds your respiratory strength and encourages oxygen flow.
Sleep on your side instead of lying on your back.
Use a humidifier. (Bonus: add lavender, peppermint, or eucalyptus for additional benefits!)
